About SOMA Healing Arts Co-Op

Reimagining Wellness: The SOMA Story

From personal frustration to a thriving co-op, we're transforming wellness into an accessible, empowering experience for everyone.

Brian's Journey: The Spark of SOMA

My path into the wellness Industry began more than ten years ago, an exploration that quickly turned into a source of deep frustration.

Living in Los Angeles, a city often touted as a wellness mecca, I found the reality far removed from the ideal. 'Wellness' here was frequently synonymous with a confusing barrage of information, exorbitant costs, exclusive luxury, and fleeting, unsustainable trends.

we all share a fundamental desire for genuine health and well-being. Yet, this pursuit often leads us down a labyrinth of short-lived fads, restrictive diets, Unrealistic biohacking, and a revolving door of healers, leaving many feeling more lost than found.

Beyond the consumer experience, I observed the significant strain placed on wellness practitioners. They were frequently overworked and underpaid, battling burnout in a system that often prioritized profit over genuine care. Freelancing Practitioners struggled with the constant instability of their work.

It became clear to me that this fragmented and unsustainable model was failing both those seeking wellness and those providing it.

This realization sparked the vision for SOMA Healing Arts Co-Op.

My name is Brian May, and I envisioned a space where collaboration and integration would not only address these systemic issues but also elevate the entire wellness industry. I aimed to create a community where practitioners could thrive, supported by a collaborative environment that fostered shared resources and mutual growth. Simultaneously, I wanted to provide individuals seeking wellness with a cohesive, accessible, and sustainable approach, grounded in genuine care and integrated practices.

SOMA was born from the belief that true wellness is holistic, collaborative, and accessible.

The SOMA Solution:

A Co-Op for Conscious Wellness

SOMA is more than just a wellness studio; it's a movement. We're taking the core desire for health and integrating all aspects of wellness: everyday goods, wellness products, diverse services, community partnerships, and comprehensive education. Our creative studios are hubs for classes, workshops, and trainings, fostering a thriving community.

We address the problems I saw: practitioner burnout and isolation, fragmented care, and the inaccessibility of genuine wellness. Our co-op model provides practitioners with empowerment, not just employment, and transforms wellness from an expense to an investment for our members.

Imagine a space where you can access a range of high-quality services, discover ethical products, and connect with a supportive community. That's SOMA.

Why a Co-Op? The Power of Collaboration

We believe wellness thrives in a collaborative environment. Our co-op model empowers our 'Healing Artists' to focus on their passion, while clients benefit from a holistic and integrated approach to care. This creates a ripple effect of positive change, benefiting individuals, our community, and Beyond.

By sharing ownership and resources, we create a sustainable ecosystem where practitioners can thrive, and clients receive exceptional care. This model allows for greater accessibility, ethical practices, and a genuine sense of community.

Our Vision: A Global Wellness Community

Our vision extends beyond our current location. We aim to organically expand SOMA into new cities, states, and countries, creating a global community dedicated to conscious wellness.

We are driven by the values of: Collaboration, Empowerment, Ethical Practices, High-Quality Care, and Community. These values are the foundation of everything we do.
